Kingsley Moghalu, a former presidential contender in the 2019 general election, claims that at least six political parties have expressed interest in merging and becoming a mega party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Moghalu remarked this while hosting Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the governorship election in Anambra State on November 6.
The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, who recently defected to the ADC, also urged Nigerians to register in order to vote in 2023.
“We aim to be a crucial component of a much larger third force that is forming in preparation for the presidential elections, which will entail a merger of six or seven or more parties.”
“As a result, I believe that the voters of Nigeria should not allow the 2023 elections to be a struggle between two sides of the same coin since there is no difference.”
It should be a fight between the old and the new, between the old Nigerian and the prospects for a new Nigeria. That is what 2023 should be, according to Moghalu.
