Stretch marks are those spidery vein-like lines on your skin that are lighter than your skin tone and so, are very visible, even from a distance. Usually, rapid weight loss, physical changes or pregnancy can cause these marks on your stomach, thighs, calf area and arms to appear. Experts say that the only permanent way to get rid of them is surgery. Dermabrasion or laser treatment also help, but here are some ways you might be able to lighten them….
Intense mosturisers: Massage a mix of castor oil and cocoa butter on the area. This will provide intense hydration.
Aloe vera: Aloe vera has healing and soothing properties. You can take a stem of aloe vera and scoop out the fresh pulp. Rub this gently on the marks for around 10 minutes. Leave it on for another five minutes, then rinse off.
Vitamin application: Break open a few Vitamin E and A capsules. Now, mix both and apply on the marks till it gets absorbed totally.
Oil massage: Sweet almond oil, mixed with wheatgerm and argan oil can help. When this is massaged twice every day on the stomach, from the first trimester of pregnancy, stretch marks are not formed.
TIP: Easy makeup trick To hide your stretch marks, use a good quality body foundation, bronzer or a concealer on the areas that have marks.
