The 10-step Korean skincare routine is popping right now. And if you haven’t heard about it where have you been? Seriously, where is the rock you lived under located?
This regimen is what Korean women swear by and has been going door-to-door, giving the gift of great skin. If your skin has issues or you simply want to have great skin, you’re in the right place.
Now, this routine doesn’t have anything to do with products, even though you could choose to use Korean products. However, it has everything to do with the routine itself.
When you’re taking on the 10-step Korean skincare routine you have to follow these steps;
Cleansing with oil is no new trick. It’s been around for a bit and works wonders. It lifts dirt, debris and leftover makeup. Simply put some coconut or jojoba oil on your face, leave it to loosen up the dirt and wipe off with facial wipes.
You might not believe this, but even after the oil cleanse you will still have dirt left over. Using a foam cleanser will remove every inch of grime and dirt from your skin leaving it squeaky clean.
Exfoliation is a vital aspect of this routine. It takes off dead skin cells and reveals a new layer of skin that’s brighter and clearer. If you have sensitive skin do this weekly, but if you have tough skin, three times weekly is better.
After cleansing twice, your skin is in a very fragile state. It needs to rehydrate and re-nourish. This is where the toner comes in. It not only replenishes the skin but preps the skin for treatments to come.
This is the heart of this entire routine. Think of them like boosters or serums and can also act as a toner. This treatment product will penetrate the skin and target problem areas.
Serum, booster or ampoule
This is another treatment especially if you have brown or black spots and hyperpigmentation.
This step can be done twice a week and really depends on what your skin needs. You could choose a brightening mask or a hydrating mask to aid your skin where you need it most.
A great eye cream can do wonders for your under the eye. It helps to reduce dark circles and fine lines around the eyes for a fairer appearance.
This step is purely to lock in all the moisture and keep your skin looking plump and young looking.
This is the finishing touch. SPF protects all that hard work you just put in. It keeps away free radicals in the air, protects from UV rays and maintains the skin’s barrier. Without this step, you might as well just wash your face with Morning Fresh and be done with it.
