A Nigerian individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, lost their life during a confrontation with another Nigerian in Ventimiglia, a coastal city in the province of Imperia, Liguria, located in northern Italy.
As reported by Infomigrants, the deceased and the assailant were acquainted prior to the fatal altercation that occurred on October 14. Earlier that same day, witnesses reportedly observed both men drinking coffee at a café.
Witnesses said the pair were known to be best of friends who would usually visit the café together to drink coffee. No one had ever seen them fight or exchange unpleasant words with each other.
During the brawl, the victim, 30, was said to have been stabbed in the throat by the attacker, 29. The victim reportedly fell on a nearby pavement and was in a pool of his own blood afterwards.
The attacker, who also suffered wounds in the abdominal and chest regions, was initially taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. When his condition deteriorated overnight, he was transferred to the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure, w. he underwent surgery.
The reasons for the deadly brawl remain unknown.
