The National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno made a claim about some whopping amount of money that was approved for the purchase of weapons.
According to him, the immediate past service chiefs could not account for the money approved to purchase weapons during their tenure.
He made this known in an interview with BBC Hausa disclosing that the new service chiefs could not find any newly acquired weapons and other military hardware when they assumed office.
He said;
Nobody knows what they used the money for, but, I assure you the president is going to probe all the money given to them during their tenure,” Mr. Monguno alleged. Maybe the weapons are on their way from America. I cannot disclose further on the matter since a proper investigation has not been conducted.
