Okay Cold. fans, do you want the good news or the bad news?

The good news: Cold. are already making plans to release a brand new album in 2025, after their newest album, Music Of The Sp.s, came out just weeks ago.

But .’s the bad news: that album will be their last.

Frontman Chris Martin confirmed the news on Wednesday saying ‘our last proper record will come out in 2025’ but that ‘the Cold. catalogue, as it were, finishes then’.

Speaking in an interview with Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2, he confirmed the band will stop making records after their final album, but they’re not breaking up, adding that ‘after that I think we will only tour’.

With an impressive back catalogue of nine studio albums, four number ones and 12 singles reaching the top 10 in the charts, Cold. have plenty to keep them going on future tours.

Chris added that, while the band may not be making any more music, ‘maybe we’ll do collaborative things’.

Cold. previously teamed up with some major names, including Chris appearing for a duet with Dua Lipa on her debut album, and the band performing on stage with none other than Ed Sheeran for a recent show in London.

The announcement comes after Chris previously said he envisions Cold. will release 12 albums before retiring from making music.

During an appearance on Absolute Radio, he said: ‘I think that in a few albums’ time we will finish making albums.

‘This is not a joke, this is true, I think after 12 that will be the end of our catalogue, but I think we will always want to . live together.

2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the band’s formation, making it a milestone year for Cold. and the fans who have been t. from the start.

The band are set to embark on their Music Of The Sp.s tour next year, meaning fans will still have plenty of opportunities to see them ..

This tour is expected to be one of the greenest in history as it implements special measures including rechargeable batteries fuelled by renewable .s, and generators powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil.
