Residents in Lokoja, Kogi State, face a looming threat of epidemics due to water scarcity persisting for over a week.

Concerned locals urged the state government to find a lasting solution to the critical situation, highlighting the dire impact on their lives in areas like Gadumo, a suburb of the state capital.

This recent scarcity follows a similar incident two weeks ago, despite promises from the Kogi State Water Board’s General Manager, Engr Mohammed Sagir, to address the problem caused by a voltage drop in power supply.

Efforts to reach Sagir for comment on the current situation were unsuccessful.

An anonymous . cited financial issues as a major cause of the scarcity, suggesting a need to reconsider the recent freezing of government accounts.

Locals urged the government to ensure adequate funding for crucial agencies to mitigate the situation and benefit the populace.
