Forest were said to be deliberating over whether to “formalise their interest” in the striker earlier this week, before it was reported on Thursday that the Reds had made an opening bid for Dennis . The offer was claimed to be in the region of £20million, which would be a club-record fee, and Steve Cooper’s side look set to land their man.
The Athletic have reported that Watford have accepted Forest’s bid for Dennis, with a deal “agreed in principle”. Though final negotiations are still ongoing it is claimed that personal terms have also been agreed with the .er, while Club Brugge are set to receive a five per cent sell-on fee.
Adam Leventhal of The Athletic states that the exact structure of the deal remains ‘unclear’ but that Watford have been open to selling Dennis since returning to the Championship. The Hornets are understood to value the forward at £20million and were only “ready to sell at the right price”.
