Falcons fail to hit final lose 6-5 to Morocco – Sporting Life

It was nightmarish outing for the Super Falcons in Rabat on Monday night in Rabat as the nine time Champions lost 2-1 to host Morocco.

As if the day was not meant to be super for the Randy Waldrum tutored side two important .ers were sent off in the second half of the match Halimat Ayinde and Rashidat Ajibade.

The exit of the two .ers put a lot of pressure on the Falcons who had to battle to Moroccans for over 40 minutes with two men down. The Nigerian goal which came in the 62nd minute of game was recorded as own goal to Moroccan Mirabet but it was certainly through pressure mounted by Ajibade and Kanu.

The Moroccans got their equaliser in the 66th minute but failed despite all the supports from their vociferous supporters failed to break the Falcons forcing the game into extra time.

Despite their defeat the Falcons gave a good account of themselves under the circumstances they found themselves. They will now face Zambia in the third place match.
