This year, with partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, the show’s first deaf contestant, the pair have wowed judges and audiences alike and were awarded the TV Moment of the Year for their moving silent dance.

Going into the semi-final, the pair are the hot favourites to win the show, with odds of 1/5 from Ladbrokes.

If he was to take Rose all the way, would this be his first time winning Strictly?

Has Giovanni ever won Strictly?

Giovanni has yet to win a series of Strictly Come Dancing, though he has come very close.

In his debut series back in 2015, Giovanni was partnered with former Coronation Street actress Georgie May Foote.

Together, the pair made it all the way to the final, coming runner-up to The Wanted band member Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani.

The next year, Giovanni was partnered with Love Island host Laura Whitmore, however, Whitmore was plagued by injuries early on, forcing the pair to miss a week.

They were eventually eliminated in week seven, coming ninth overall.

In his third and fourth series, Giovanni once again made it all the way to the final. In series 15, he and partner Debbie McGee came second to Joe McFadden and Katya Jones.

In series 16, when paired with Steps member Faye Tozer, the pair came second to Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

The next year, when dancing with Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, the pair finished in seventh place and, last year, with Ranvir Singh the pair came fifth.

Could 2021 be Giovanni’s year? Tune in to find out.
