Wedding jewellery is an integral part of your entire bridal look. So, taking some time before you choose your wedding jewellery is important.
T. are so many options, so if you don’t already have a picture in mind, choosing your wedding jewellery can be overwhelming. The goal is to find the ones that complement both your skin and your dress. Here are some tips to consider before you choose:
Less is more
Don’t overdo it. You shouldn’t allow your wedding jewellery to outshine your dress, it should instead complement it. You can also allow the jewellery to be in contrast to the dress; for example, if the wedding dress is simple then you can step up the look with your jewellery.
The neckline of your dress
The neckline of your wedding dress is also a deciding factor for the kind of necklace you might want to choose. A choker or a shorter necklace is appropriate for dresses with a strapless neckline or sweetheart neckline. V-neck dresses, however, can have either chokers, pendant or layers with dangling earrings or studs (both can go).
Avoid too many colours
Try to go for a single or two-colour combination that blends well with your wedding dress. Multicoloured jewellery may make the outfit look messy and steal attention from the overall beauty of the bride.
Jewellery choice based on colour
If you’re not sure about the colour of jewellery to use, a simple way to decide will be based on your wedding dress colour. If your gown is white, platinum or silver pieces can work. When it comes to off-white or cream, gold jewellery works. If your wedding dress has pink highlights, rose gold could be the ideal jewellery.
A dramatic way to complement your look with jewellery is to not match all your jewellery. The earrings and the necklace and the bracelets don’t have to be the same design. Contrasting the right way is a huge plus to your overall look.
One way to choose the right accessories is to hire a wedding planner that can help you with those details.
