Simon Cowell is back with a brand new series, and he’s got some famous names along for the ride.

The fresh format is the music mogul’s first new programme in years, and the first since X Factor last aired in 2019.

It’s also his first UK show since he recovered from a broken back, which he suffered back in 2020.

While Simon is heavily involved in the show, he won’t be appearing on screen.

It was confirmed that Simon will be replaced by Gary Barlow as a judge on Walk The Line, with the mogul instead focusing on his role as creator and producer for the debut series.

But how does the new game show work? Here’s everything you need to know.

The new programme sees aspiring musicians compete to win £50,000.

Walk the Line is hosted by Maya Jama, and will see musicians forced to decide between cashing out or ‘walking the line’ towards the top prize.

ITV explain: ‘The TV event format sees musical acts – be they soloists, duos, bands, or choirs – take to the stage to perform for the nation…

‘The top two performers of the evening then face a nail-biting decision in their bid to be crowned champion – to either ‘cash out’ with a tempting cash prize, or walk the line and . on. Should they stay in and top the leaderboard, they will then progress to the next show, facing a different cast of performers.

It continued: ‘The longer the performers can stay in the contest, the bigger the prize pot, with a high stake ‘stay or .’ moment at the end of each show. Each night, the reigning champion will be offered an even higher cash out prize – will they take the money and leave the competition, or Walk The Line and bet on themselves…?’

The musicians will be attempting to impress judges Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Dawn French and Craig David.
