Idris Elba proved to have a big heart when he persuaded a bouncer to let a group of friends into a bar after they were denied entry.

A TikTok user with the handle @s2inDacuttt shared his account of the night he tried to get into a cocktail bar in Soho, central London recently.

For an unknown reason, the man and his friends weren’t allowed entry until Idris swooped in to save the day.

Footage shows the Luther actor talking to the club’s staff to persuade them to let the group inside.

Clearly Idris’ charms are hard to resist as the bouncers agreed to let them in.

The grateful reveller told the actor: ‘Hey thanks for that man, I’m a big fan,’ upon noticing the famous star in his presence.

‘Hey, no worries man,’ Idris replied.

However, the Wire star’s generosity didn’t stop t. as he offered to buy the group a table in the bar, telling the staff: ‘Look after them for me, yeah?’ before turning to the TikToker and saying: ‘I want to make sure they give it to you though.’

The man captioned the TikTok post: ‘We got rejected but when Aston Idris stepped in we got accepted in [sic]. Big up the legend himself.’

Perhaps Idris was out getting used to sipping Martini cocktails amid the ever persistent rumours that he’s favourite to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond. Idris has been linked to the role for years but a Bond producer recently said the competition is ‘wide open’.

In the meantime, Idris is set to return to screens in one of his most popular roles, DCI John Luther, with the movie adaptation of the hit BBC One series in the works.

Last month, the actor teased the next instalment of the series with a behind-the-scenes shot of a clapperboard and a glimpse of Luther’s famous grey coat and red tie.
