But for Sous Chef Jeff Umuteme, who is a chef of the Oriental Restaurant, cooking is a passion and he loves satisfying people’s tastes and appetite. This Nigerian from Delta State who is a master in Asian cuisine To LEADERSHIP that creating delicacies has become a part of him and as a chef of the Oriental Restaurants at the Transcorp Hilton, he believes his creations has continued to wow guests and those who love Chinese cuisine.
According to him, it feels very simple and interesting preparing international cuisine for a prestigious place like the Hilton. While stating that as a chef one has to explore different regions Like in China
Chef Jerry who has been doing this for the past eight years at the Hilton said he was trained by four different Chinese chefs explaining that the most difficult aspect in preparing Chinese cuisine is the marination and cutting.
When asked if he has ever been challenged by your customers he said
Yes! “Once in a while you find some customers who come to say they want this particular ingredient. Even though you tell them these ingredients are from a particular part of the world, they tell you to go get it from Singapore or China. Those are some of the most difficult aspects in the business. I balance them based on recipes. We have recipes we follow.
