Jide Kosoko, Fred Amata Leads Nollywood Stakeholders In Protest Against Alleged Intellectual Property Theft By Radisson Blu Hotel


Today, Nollywood actors and actresses protested the alleged illegal use of their intellectual property by a hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, through the Audio Visual Rights Society (AVRS).

Jide Kosoko, Fred Amata, Yemi Solade, and Mahmood Alli-Balogun, among other Nollywood stars, were observed at a non-violent protest at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, GRA, Lagos.

Yinka Akanbi, Grace Amah, Ejike Asiegbu, and Sunny McDon, as well as movie producers and directors, were also seen at the demonstration.

The AVRS boss, Alli-Balogun, explained that the hospitality company has refused to pay for the usage of their intellectual assets in their many locations, which is why they are protesting.

He went on to say that conversations with the hospitality company’s management had hit a brick wall, prompting the protest.

The hotel company, according to Alli-Balogun, owes the copyright collective group N50 million.
