As New York Fashion Week (NYFW) wraps we round up lots of style inspirations to tap from the show. The show welcomes the best international designers to showcase interesting pieces on the runway and of course, set trends to come!
Exquisite designs, tasteful textures, best couture pieces and incredible sartorial bits dominated the runway show. And no, there’s no seeing it all in fashion! From the streets of the Big Apple, fashion power houses showcasing their latest collection to pop culture artists and fashion bloggers, these are trends from the NYFW to look out for.
The parade of bright colours majorly inspired by the 90s was a hit. Observe fashion-forward women on the ‘gram in bright coloured suits, multi-coloured retro tops and bright coloured nail polishes. Colours to look out for are; neon green, fuchsia pink, lilac /purple and yellow.
Designers who approved the bright colour trend on the runway include Prabal Gurung, Marc Jacobs, David Tlale, Cushnie to list a few.
Animal prints are lush and fabulous and will definitely take over! Tom Ford’s collection showcased on the runway to Nicki Minaj’s Alexandre Vauthier ball dress sealed every doubt about this trend.
This trend has become a style staple. To get in sync with the times, match two contrasting plaid textures or check for best results.
Although the clear trend already started off before the NYFW, seeing it on and off the runway verifies it’s . to stay but more fashionable. Brandon Maxwell’s and Jeremy Scott’s take on the trend is above brilliant!
Dresses inspired by the Amish
On and off the runway, classic dresses inspired by the religious group (the Amish) were spotted. These are dresses with bell sleeves, capes, square necklines and pleats. Some chose to slay in bustier tops having bell sleeves and . details matched with jeans.
