Large pores on the face is usually as a result of excess oil sitting around the skin’s pores. Pores are small openings covering the body, they surround each hair follicle on the body and are in place to keep the body cool but sometimes they become enlarged.
People with oily skin tend to have large pores as a result of the sebum the skin produces while genetics also . a role in this. An oily skin that’s not properly cleansed for instance will have oil settling around the pores making them appear enlarged.
When the pores are enlarged it’s easy for them to keep getting clogged with makeup products and dust (mixed with sebum) for instance making the skin’s appearance dull and super unattractive! It’s best to have a routine that features deep cleansing and exfoliation to get rid of dirt, dead skin cells and other bits (aha remember we mentioned this . and .) to keep the pores tight.
One important thing to do in shower everyday especially when you shower with hot/warm water is to always finish off by splashing cold water on the face to close the pores after treating them to a wash each day.
You can also avoid large pores by sleeping on clean pillow, cleaning your cellphone often (this is one of the most common ways you get breakouts), avoid touching your face and generally stay away from products that are not non-comedogenic (non- comedogenic means they won’t clog pores).
Opt for light, gel based moisturizers and lotions but if you have large pores, this simple at home treatment is a sure way to keep them closed.
