Lipsticks for warm skin tones can be hard to find, but once you have the right tips, you’ll have no problem.
Have you ever loved a lipstick colour on someone else and wanted to try it on yourself. Only to try it on and look absolutely ridiculous? Well, I have. I tried on black and looked like a ‘Mungo Park‘. If you don’t know what that means, sow a seed and I’ll tell you! LOL!
Well, chances are that lipstick colour was totally wrong for my skin tone/undertone. I have a warm undertone and so have to find lipsticks for warm skin tone. But it left me with the question – what colour of lipstick would look on me?
If you have asked yourself this question, then we are in the same boat. And I have the answer! But first, let’s get some things right.
- Everyone has a skin tone and it ranges from cool to neutral to warm. Warm skin tones are pretty easy to spot. Warm skin tones or undertones have olive or golden hues to their skin. They’re the Beyonce’s and Nicki Minaj’s of the world (smiles uncontrollably). But if your skin is fairer or close to white, then you have a cool skin tone/undertone.
- If you have a warm skin tone, your veins appear greenish on your wrist or chest. However, if your veins look both green and blue, then your skin tone is cool.
- Everyone that has a warm skin tone looks great in gold jewellery. If you can wear both silver and gold, then you’re leaning more towards a cool undertone.
Lipsticks for warm skin tones are usually warmer and orangey. So if you lean more towards reds, oranges and fiery shades, you’ll be on the right track.
Red – Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint
I’ve never seen a more universal red. But I’d like to think this Fenty’s Stunna looks best on warm skin tones. It had a rich warmness to it which makes it perfect for my tone.
Orange – Sleek Studio Flash ‘n’ Pout in Revolution
I’ve never been a fan of orange lipstick. I always think I’ll end up looking like an actual orange (peel and all) But when I tried this one on, I was in citrus heaven. It’s warm just like my tone!
Peachy Nude – Black Opal True Colour in “Platinum Quartz”
What’s better than a peach nude lipstick shade? It’s warm and almost flesh toned. This one works great for warm skin tones – just look!
Pink – Black Opal Colour Splurge patent Lip in “Impassioned Pink”
This might be my favourite lipstick. I love its blend between pink and purple and those little holographic details are BAE!
I hope this helped you find lipsticks for warm skin tones. And if you’re trying to find the perfect red for your skin, check this out!
