LMC Pardon Kwara United, Promise To Worsen Sanctions For Future Inadequacy – Latest Sports and Football News in Nigeria

The Nigeria Professional Football League has recently seen violence due to lack of crowd control in the stadium, especially against visiting teams and referees. So far, a few sanctions have been hammered on defaulting teams and one of such teams is Kwara United.

The Ilorin based team was fined by the LMC and was ordered to . behind closed doors as a result of crowd violence that emanated from their home clash against Champions Rivers United on match day 26 of the NPFL.


After numerous appeals, the Kwara State Football Association spokesman, Bolaji Lawal has said that the LMC has acknowledged their appeals and has also granted the approval to bring fans back to the stadium for NPFL matches starting from 3rd July, 2022.

The approval has comes with a warning statement, urging fans to condole themselves and be in appropriate behavior during and after football matches. The approval also said that any breach of the rules again will attract a heavier sanction in the future for Kwara United as they pursue a continental ticket this season. “With a view to understudy the situation and will not hesitate to rescind it’s decision if crowd control measures are not adequate.”


Kwara United will host Nasarawa United in an NPFL match Sunday 3rd July. Kwara United sit at 7th position on the NPFL table with just one point separating them from 3rd place Remo Stars as their continental hopes is still alive.
