The latest instalment of the blockbuster franchise was finally released in cinemas earlier this year, following a string of lengthy delays.

Daniel, who has .ed 007 for 15 years, previously announced that the movie would be his last as the super spy, with speculation over who could be replacing him.

He went out with a spectacular bang when his character was killed off by an MI6 missile strike, just before the final credits rolled – with a message later flashing up, announcing that we would get a new film soon.

However, for those fans who are still questioning if t. was the slightest chance that Craig’s Bond survived the explosion, as we technically didn’t see him die, the filmmaker in charge has some bad news for you.

‘I wasn’t trying to be obtuse with it,’ Cary confirmed to Empire. ‘I wanted to be clear with it. But I wanted it to be tasteful. We didn’t want that shot in Terminator 2 w. you see Sarah Connor turning into bones.

‘But we wanted to show that he wasn’t going to jump down a sewer at the last second. So that wider shot of the island being pummelled was a mixture of macro and micro.

‘The full effect is, “Yes, he’s gone, but he succeeded in making sure none of that weapons would go on into the future.”’

‘It felt like closure, like closing off the past, and closing off the story,’ he added. ‘It’s that last sentence in a paragraph in the last chapter of a book, just to try to make it feel satisfying.’

With No Time To Die finally getting the cinema release we’ve all been waiting for, talk has obviously turned to who could step into the famous tuxedo next.

Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson confessed that they have no idea how the newcomer will be written into the script, following that ending.

During an appearance at Deadline’s Contenders Film: New York, Barbara said: ‘We’ll figure that one out, but he will be back,’ Barbara announced.

‘You can rest assured James Bond will be back.’

Bring it on.
