Plus Size Fashion Week Africa (PFW Africa) returns with an exciting second edition come November 3rd and 4th 2018!
Organizers of PFW Africa hosted a press conference on Thursday, September 28, 2018 at the Villa Angelia Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos w. they shared plans underway for this year’s edition of the fashion event.
The press conference kicked off with an opening prayer after which clips from the past edition was recalled to refresh the minds of those in attendance. Ms. Yetty Ogunnubi of YD Agency who was the organizer of the conference began by introducing the organizers of the Plus Size Fashion Week Africa and the members of the panel.
Joining Ogunnubi who doubles as the PR person for PFW Africa were Miss Olubukola Akanbi (PFW AFRICA Project Coordinator), Dumebi Agbakoba (Award Winning Chef), Feyi Luther (Chef), Immacukate Dache (Music Ariste/influencer), Nkechi Blessing (Actress), Monalisa Stephen (Actress), Mor Okonwo (Music Artiste), and the CEO of Modavi Couture as members of the panel at the press conference.
The founder of PFWAFRICA, Mrs Temi Aboderin-Alao spoke about the journey to PFW, her vision for the event in years to come, plans for this year’s edition, what to look forward to and the inspiration behind the ‘#beautifullyme’ themed edition. The Influencers who were present spoke about plus size representation while sharing their excitement about being part of the show noting that confidence in line with the theme of the 2018 edition #beautifullyme needs to be preached to women of all sizes.

The Managing Director, Mr Wilson Alao spoke about the idea behind PFWA, noting that the models will go through casting and training to prepare them professionally for the fashion week. Project coordinator Miss Olubukola Akanbi talked about the process of putting up the upcoming show revealing exhibition, music, runway shows, a master class and a fashion awards gala night as part of the line up this year.
The first ever edition of the Plus Size Fashion Week Africa took place on Saturday September 2, 2017 and it was an exciting day for the PlusSize models/enthusiasts, ladies and the entire community.
