PHOTOS : Bakers Attack Colleagues With cutlasses In Iwo For Refusing To Increase Bread Prices

Bread bakers in Iwo, united under the Master Bakers Association, attacked Albadr Bakers, an autonomous group of Iwo bread bakers, on Friday, September 10, 2021, for not increasing the price of their bread.

The incident occurred in the Agbowo region of Iwo, Osun State, at Aanu Olu Bread.

According to reports, Alhaji Areweyo, Chairman of the Master Bakers in Iwo, led the party of attackers with some rented thugs.

A pregnant woman who had come to buy bread was also attacked and injured during the attack.

“We cannot continue to contribute to the people’s mental pain as a result of the country’s economic misery.” One of Albadr Bakers claimed, “They came, demolished our bread, seized our money, damaged our flours, and beat our customers.”

The Taawun President, Sheikh Daood Imran Molaasan, called the Master Bakers’ actions as brutal, inhumane, and of the highest level of idiocy.

“This isn’t a lawless land where you can do whatever you want. We urge our security officers to do their jobs and apprehend the criminals. This can’t go on like this. Justice must be served,” Sheikh stated.
