The Lagos State Police Command detained two individuals for their involvement in fatally assaulting a man on suspicion of stealing car doors.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, revealed this information in a statement issued on Sunday following a report from the deceased man’s widow at Iponri Police Division.
The widow reported on Thursday that her husband was being attacked by a group of individuals while she was at home, prompting the police to take action and make the arrests.
In his words;
“In her report, she said they were beating her husband because he allegedly stole two doors of a car.”
“She reported that on getting to the scene, she saw her husband in a pool of his blood and the assailants took him away in a tricycle.”
“She further said that she heard later that her husband died on their way to the hospital and his corpse was abandoned in the tricycle.”
