Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that sanctions imposed by the US will not prevent Moscow and Ankara from developing their military cooperation, speaking in Sochi on Tuesday at a press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
“We appreciate the fundamental attitude of our Turkish colleagues to continue cooperation in this area, despite the continuing illegitimate pressure from Washington, which openly lobbies the interests of American manufacturers using non-market, illegitimate methods”, he said.
Lavrov also stated that both countries agreed that the recent conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh shouldn’t be used to infiltrate foreign mercenaries into the disputed region.
In his turn, Cavusoglu mentioned that Russia and Turkey will collaborate in producing Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine.
