From the mind-blowing showcase to the streets; we are predicting these trends!
Prints come in different forms be it tie-dye, floral, checkered etc. From the showcase, we could spot a few designers giving us some hint about what would trend.
Sophisticated/Avant Garde-ish headwraps
Ditch scarves and focus on glittery bow headwrap (Ejiro Amos Tafiri made a case for this in her presentation!) to add more class to your look. This accessory would be perfect for traditional weddings!
The print trend is going back to the African roots! Tye-dye is . to stay and even better. Designers are giving us directional takes with the use of tie-dye techniques.
Handloomed wears/ Aso Oke
Who would have thought hand woven fabrics would be perfect for work, red carpet or black tie events? That’s the power of fashion and creativity! The traditional Aso-Oke fabric too have become one of the most sorted after pieces by Nigerian designers. We can’t wait to see all the bold chic looks people will be rocking it in!
Clothes with cut-outs are definitely going to be big! Take Lisa Folawiyo’s collection which featured strategic cut-out fits for fashion-forward women.
This year we have witnessed the outburst of bright colours from pantone, yellow, neon, cobalt blue to red! More bold colours are coming so be prepared!
Retro fashion was pretty much huge this year and it’s . to stay for a long time! Puffy sleeves, rectangular necklines, dresses with cinched waists and accessories will take over the street but in a more refined way.
Tulle is classy and chic and it’s definitely . to stay!
The list definitely goes on but these we are sure are about to make it into every wardrobe! See more collections from LFW ..
