Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has penned an emotional farewell to his Scottish side, Rangers F.C on Saturday, 18th June, 2022 after spending two years at the club, Sports247 Nigeria can report.
Balogun became a free agent after Rangers announced last month that his contract at the club will not be renewed, which brought his .ing time at the Ibrox Stadium to an end.
In a twitter post on Saturday evening, Balogun noted that it is sad that his time at Rangers has come to an end, thanking the management, coaches, teammates and fans of the club for their support.
“Took me some time, but eventually it is time for me to say goodbye.
Thank you to every single soul at the club working their socks of, making sure me and the boys can focus on performing at our best. A lot of whom we work with on a daily basis, kitchen staff, medical staff, sports scientists and athletic trainers, as well as our two girls Katy and Hannah. You have shown and taught me -in your very own way- the dedication that is expected and I thank your for that.
Thank you to the managing staff and especially to my amazing team mates over the 2 seasons, who welcomed me from day one as a .er and a friend. Who have pushed me to be better and taught me the Rangers way. A lot of highs, a few lows that made our bond even stronger,” the tweet read.
Balogun joined Rangers from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2020 and won the Premiership and Scottish Cup, as well as reaching the Europa League final in his final season.
