Todd Boehly, a co-owner of Chelsea, has provided an explanation for the Blues’ signing of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhailo Mudryk.

Goldennewsng reports that Sunday saw the official signing of Mudryk’s eight-and-a-half-year Chelsea contract.

Over the weekend, Chelsea issued a statement on its website confirming this.

Boehly responded by saying that the Ukrainian winger was signed by Chelsea because he will be a great addition to Graham Potter’s team now and in the future.

Chelsea’s official website cited Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, co-controlling owners, as saying: We are happy to have Mykhailo in Chelsea. We believe that he will be an excellent addition to our team both now and in the years to come. He is a talent that is extremely exciting.

“He will add more depth to our attack, and we know he will be welcomed with open arms in London,”
