Emmanuel Michael picked up his third consecutive man of the match award at the ongoing WAFU B U17 Championship after scoring twice from free kicks to help Nigeria beat Cote d’Ivoire 3-1 in the semi final.

Michael set the tone for a comeback win for the Nigerians by scoring twice from freekicks lifting the team from 0-1 to leading 2-1. Abubakar Abdullahi ensured the game is put to bed with a third goal for Nigeria with a firm header.

After the game, Micheal was once again presented with the man of the match award. An award he is winning for the third time in a row. The Simoiben Academy prospect starlet won the award in the opening game against Ghana and also the second and final group game against Togo.

The recently turned 16 year old picked his scoring a brace in today’s game as one of the best moments of his life so far as it didn’t only help the team get to the final. It also see them qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations which will take place in Morocco.
