Glass skin is skin so fine you’ll fall in love with yourself. But the big question is – how do you get it?!
To get you started on your journey to glass skin, let’s tell you all about it. Now, glass skin isn’t literally made of glass – it just looks like glass. This term refers to skin that is so clear, poreless, glowing and seemingly transparent that it looks as clear as glass!
The term originally started with and has mainly been propagated by Korean skincare products, and has everybody going crazy. But perhaps one Korean, in particular, has the world yearning for this perfect beauty. Ellie Choi, a makeup artist who hails from Los Angeles shared her skincare routine a while ago on how she gets her amazing skin. You might be asking yourself why you should care, but when you see a woman with skin like this…
…You pay attention to whatever they tell you about skincare!
Ellie has combination skin (oily t-zone and dry surrounding) but assures us that glass skin is possible.
We know what you might be thinking – would this work for us even if we’re Black and she’s Korean. The answer is yes. The only difference is you have to tailor the routine to your preferences determined by what your skin accepts or rejects.
So, .’s how you can cop Ellie’s skincare routine and hop on the glass skin flight. Don’t worry, we’ll save you a seat:
- Cleanse: The very first step to any good routine is to cleanse. Ellie kicks this off with Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes to remove initial dirt. She then grabs either her Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser or the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser to finish the cleanse.
- Tone: This is the 2nd part you can’t afford to miss. Toning is another great way to cleanse the skin and also adds nourishment to the skin. Ellie uses her Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 to achieve this and leaves it on to hydrate and treat the skin.
- Exfoliate: Every now and again a good exfoliating does great for your skin. Our favorite Korean always goes for Skinfood’s Black Sugar Strawberry Wash Off Mask that gives her a healthy natural glow. if you can’t get your hands on this, any exfoliator would work. Just make sure the beads aren’t too harsh or sharp.
- Moisturize: NEVER leave the house without moisturizing your skin. What are you? Crazy? Be like Ellie and grab a moisturizer like the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream and pack on a good amount.
Now, as much as we’d love to leave all the work to these products, we also have a part to . in it. Creating and maintaining a great diet works wonders for your skin. Eat fruits and veggies, drink lots of water and stay away from greasy food. Plus, take a look at some Nigerian skincare brands you definitely want to know!
