William Troost-Ekong has stated that spirits are high in camp and that the Super Eagles are looking to defeat Algeria when both teams meet.
Nigeria will . Algeria in two friendlies on Friday and next Tuesday. Jose Peseiro’s team will face the Desert Foxes’ home-based team tomorrow at the Mohamed Maloiul Stadium in Contastine, before facing the main team on September 27 at the Oran Olympic Stadium.
Troost-Ekong stated on NFF TV that he is delighted to be back with his national teammates, while also revealing the targets for the double-friendly.
“It’s been good. We are very happy to see the boys back together and the staff,” the Watford centre-back said. “We have a game coming up against Algeria and spirit have been high, training has been good and we are just working hard to improve our team cohesion and be ready for the game.
“We want to try and win all the games and improve in all areas. We are .ing against Algeria, one of the top teams in Africa. We have to show them respect but at the same time even though it’s a friendly game we will try to win the game and prepare ourselves for the qualifiers that will be coming up next.”
Troost-Ekong also stated that the games against Algeria will provide a good opportunity for the newly invited .ers to integrate into the team. He added:
“It’s a great opportunity for the new .ers to show themselves and for all of us to blend together and understand what the coach expects from us.”
