Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen has had quite the following in recent weeks judging from his performances for both club and country.
Ever since his stellar season with Ligue 1 club, Lille, the Nigeria international and Napoli striker has attracted interests from a number of European clubs, with Bayern Munich one of the mentioned clubs who had eyes on him.
But Bayern Munich CEO, Oliver Kahn commenting on what is stalling their move for a replacement striker after the exit of Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona, stated t. were some names in the squad halting them from being active in the market for a striker like Victor Osimhen.
Oliver Kahn explained that the confidence of the Bundesliga side stems from them having the likes of 21-year-old Joshua Zirkzee and Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as options to replace Robert Lewandowski.
This he asserts will hold them off from going all active in the market despite links to Victor Osimhen, Cristiano Ronaldo or Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer.
And it is quite cliché to mention that Napoli President, Aurelio de Laurentiis has already mentioned he would only let the Nigerian star leave only if 100 million euros was paid to the club.
Oliver Kahn speaking after the German Super Cup final against RB Leipzig, revealed:
“We will not buy other strikers, this is not discussed.
“We have seen how many opportunities we have had in attack and how many different formations we have been able to field.
“We also still have several options in the current team, t. is Zirkzee, t. is Choupo-Moting, then the young Mathys Tel, who is training incredibly well at the moment.”
Aside the aforementioned .ers, it should be recalled that the German side just recruited Sadio Mane into its ranks ahead of the season, and prior to his exit from Liverpool, the .er .ed as a striker.
